I hate big trucks

You know what sucks? Getting stuck behind a logging truck on a beautiful day on a 2 lane highway. You know who probably thinks it sucked more than me? The dog, who couldn't put her face out the window because every time she did, she was pelted with freaking wood chips! Stupid truck with its stupid logs.

Funny to me

Layla likes to kick her back feet in the dirt (scratching basically) after she finishes going to the bathroom - my other dogs did this too, I don't know why. Last night she kicked the trash can by accident and scared herself. I thought it was hilarious.

My head is so crammed full of stuff right now; I feel like Kelly Bundy when she was preparing for that game show. I hope nothing pops out of my head.

The one with all the pictures

My mom finally sent me the CD with pictures from her camera from New Orleans. I've posted a whole bunch and tried to remember what they were, so here ya go:

This was what they gave the Roll at Brennan's instead of free cake. Interesting, but cake is better!
Fan boat- duh.

I totally forget where we were - there was church near where our hotel was, but this wasn't it because there wasn't a path. Hmm. Now I must try to figure it out!

This is the courtyard of our hotel.

This was brunch at the Court of 2 Sisters.

This is the Charm Gate outside the front door of the Court of 2 Sisters. You're supposed to touch it and make a wish.

The End.

So You think..

Yea. I like "So You Think You Can Dance". It is fun to watch people who are talented. Which is why I also like reality shows such as "Project Runway" and "Top Chef". I only watch America's Next Top Model when MTV or VH1 has a marathon and I get the whole season in a Saturday...still I only like to watch the part where they shoot the pics and the judging when they show them...not all the bitchy parts in between.

But I digress. The point of this was to say that I love Dominic & Sabra and Pascha & Sarah and will be sad when they (especially the former) get split up next week. Also, I love Wade Robson's dances, but I do not like him as a judge. He is boring and robot-like. And not a cool robot either. Like a boring robot. Like Al Gore pre meeting Leo.

My prediction for tonight: Hok & Anya get booted. Although I hope it's Jamie b/c I don't really give a crap about her. She's good and all, but kind of bores me. And Lacey annoys the crap out of me, but I don't think she'll be in the bottom 3, so it's not an issue at this point.

Observance

I have discovered something recently, something many people probably already know. I have discovered how to tell if someone is fat or pregnant. I mean, sometimes it's obvious. But the way to tell is by how the person holds their hands.

Chubby people try to hide the tummy. This is done by either crossing the arms under the boobs and hoisting them up as a diversionary tactic (look at my boobs, not my belly...I have done this, it helps to get drinks). Or, you can cross the arms over the tummy itself, basically grasping opposite hips bones, trying to both push the tummy in and to hide it.

Pregnant ladies have 2 holds as well. The first is the belly rest, where hands are folded and rested on top. The other is the protective mommy stance, where one arm is circled around the top and the other cups the belly from below forming a protective circle around the stomach.

I've been watching for the last few weeks (I discovered this on a bus from the parking deck to the airport 3 weeks ago) and so far, it's been pretty reliable.

Jeff's b-day

Jeff's 26th birthday was this weekend. He drove to Baltimore with his roommates to watch the Orioles play. They then drove to Delaware and stayed with my family. I flew up on Thursday night and my cousin picked me up. On Friday I went with her to work and watched camp counselors play American Idol. We then met the boys at the Mets/Phillies game. They stayed for a double header and we went home and met another cousin and chatted. (Also happy birthday Dave!!)

On Saturday, which was Jeff's b-day, Ann & the boys went to Delaware Park (a "casino") and played video poker, slots & bet on horses. They all "broke about even". While they were gone, Sara, Bret & I went shopping for ribs, beer etc. for lunch & dinner that night. At the Zingo's check out line we found the best thing ever... a water balloon launcher. I did not know how much joy a $4 toy would bring. We set up an elaborate plot to attack the other people and filled up about 40 balloons. Unfortunately, we over shot them. The balloons went over the house (as they were supposed to), but also went over the street and landed in the neighbor's yard.

That night, we had cake for Jeff and then the boys learned how to pay pitch with Pop-Pop and told stories about Missouri. It was nice listening to them laugh.

After that, we played drinking games around the fire pit up at the pool until it got late... and then we played drinking games inside. I have lots of mosquito bites from doing that. All in all, fun weekend!

Crazy scary

It's scary. There is less than a month - 20 days - until I sit for the biggest test of my life. And I'm not ready. I am scared out of my mind. I've been having stomach problems for a week and sleep problems for a little longer, although the nightmares that some of my classmates are having having hit me yet.

The night before the bar, and the night in between the exams, I'll be staying at my brother's house. When I told my sister, she was very surprised and suggested I go elsewhere. My thought was that the boys are dumb enough to keep my mind off the exam, and maybe they will exhaust me to the point where I can sleep instead of toss & turn for 6 hours, looking at the clock every 15 minutes.

Hopefully, after taking more practice exams, I will feel more confident. But right now, I want to curl up in a ball and forget that I'm a 3L preparing to be a lawyer.
